Hi, I'm Sheila McCloskey.

I have been creating stories for as long as I can remember. An avid reader and self-proclaimed “word nerd,” I spent countless childhood hours lost in a book, imagining characters, and writing my own stories on our family's only computer (much to the chagrin of my parents and three sisters, who usually had to wait on me to use the dial up internet...)

In high school and college, this passion was strengthened through instruction in literary analysis (a special thanks to Mr. Bonds and Ms. Bryant!), and by the books I was assigned through my various English curricula. Through my further study, I learned first-hand the great power and joy in a skillfully crafted story, and I aspired to emulate this in my own writing. This fond appreciation for both consuming and creating inspiring stories has remained a lifelong passion, with my poetry and prose finding publication in several regional magazines over the years.

When I am not writing, my enthusiasm for language carries over into my work as an itinerant hearing support therapist, working with students with hearing loss. I spend my free time cooking, exercising, singing in both formal settings (Diocesan Choir), and informal settings (my car), and adding to my bank of useless knowledge by researching obscure bits of movie and television trivia.

A proud, lifelong Pennsylvanian, I live in Eastern PA with my wonderful husband, Casey, and our two beautiful sons.
